LA’s Culver Hotel Unveils Refresh, New Bistro

Proper Hospitality has added the historic Culver Hotel in Los Angeles to the Collective, the company’s portfolio of independent, design-driven boutique hotels. The Beaux-Arts urban destination was reintroduced following a refresh led by the hotel’s owner, Maya Mallick, who drew inspiration from the 46-room property’s vintage ambiance.

Mallick also spearheaded the design of the Culver Hotel’s new onsite bistro and garden lounge, Lillie’s. “We wanted to highlight the elegance of 1920s Los Angeles—the decade the hotel was built in—while also applying fresh touches so guests can experience the best of both the past and present, often feeling as if they’ve been transported to another era,” Mallick says. “Lillie’s offers a fun and fresh take on this and encourages guests to be curious about, and discover more of, the property’s history.”
