Greek restaurant Souvla has unveiled its fifth San Francisco location in the city’s Dogpatch neighborhood. Like its predecessors, Souvla Dogpatch was crafted by the brand’s founder and CEO Charles Bililies and channels the Mediterranean as well as accentuates the character of the site.
“Unlike most of our restaurants, which involve extensive remodels that take an existing space down to the studs, we wanted to honor many of the existing materials and architectural elements in the inherited place,” Bililies says. “We wanted Souvla’s latest to stand on its own with respect to design—blending classic Souvla elements in a more industrial setting along with some subtle nautical references in a nod to the adjacent piers and former shipyards.”
