Found within the new Manhattan West mixed-use development from Brookfield Properties, the 164-room Pendry Manhattan West is housed in a billowing Skidmore, Owings & Merrill high-rise. When it came time to build a design narrative for the hotel, Pendry cofounder Michael Fuerstman turned to locally based studio Gachot to create an oasis from New York’s sensory overload. “When you walk in the door, it takes you somewhere else a bit.
