NEOS Hospitality, one of the UK’s largest bar and nightclub operators, has secured £25 million in funding to launch two new party bar concepts: Bonnie Rogue’s Pub and Barbara’s Bier Haus. Bonnie Rogue’s Pub will be an “atmospheric party pub” known for its live and loud ambiance, while Barbara’s Bier Haus is set to deliver an enjoyable après-ski theme. The first of these vibrant venues is slated to open in the former Revolution site in Bournemouth. This ambitious expansion plan underscores NEOS’s commitment to revitalizing the nightlife experience across the UK.
Strategic Expansion Targets Major Cities
The group currently employs 900 staff across 23 UK locations and has its sights set on new prime city center spots in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, and Newcastle. This robust expansion comes after a challenging period for the hospitality sector, which has been grappling with rising operational costs and decreased patronage following the pandemic. Notably, Rekom UK, from which NEOS split earlier this year, had to shut down 17 nightclubs in February, a move that led to more than 400 job losses.
Revenue Growth and Future Plans
Despite these adversities, NEOS has witnessed a 12% growth in revenue from its party bars, a success attributed to extended trading hours and a varied customer base. This positive performance has emboldened the company to aim for doubling its party bar portfolio by the end of 2025. Part of the strategic plan includes rebranding some existing sites, along with being on the brink of acquiring new ones. NEOS’s CEO Russell Quelch is optimistic, envisioning dynamic, multi-purpose venues that cater to dining, drinking, dancing, gaming, and sports viewing, giving patrons a comprehensive nightlife experience.
Funding for Future Growth
The substantial funding is intended to provide a solid foundation for NEOS’s future endeavors and reflects their strategy to elevate the late-night sector. In essence, NEOS Hospitality is set on a significant diversification and expansion path designed to inject fresh energy into the industry and appeal to a wider audience. This strategic move is poised to establish lively, engaging venues throughout key UK cities, amplifying the group’s market presence and fostering sustainable growth.
