The core objective is to reposition the state as a multifaceted destination capable of catering to a wide spectrum of travelers. This includes targeting high-value segments such as cultural explorers, adventure enthusiasts, eco-tourists, and even the corporate world through the promotion of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. By diversifying its offerings, Arunachal Pradesh aims to unlock its vast, untapped potential and redefine its identity in a competitive travel market.

A Strategy for Global and Local Impact

Central to this revitalization effort is a meticulously crafted promotional strategy that operates on both international and domestic fronts. To capture a larger share of the global market, the state plans to significantly enhance its presence at premier international trade shows, including the World Travel Market (WTM) and ITB Berlin. This global outreach is not just about strengthening visibility in existing markets but also about forging new connections, with South Korea identified as a key target for future growth. Domestically, a series of roadshows will be organized to engage and attract tourists from across India. Yet, the campaign’s vision extends far beyond marketing; its true foundation lies in empowering the local communities that are the custodians of the region’s unique culture. The government is prioritizing a community-centric model by actively promoting homestays, a sector that has already seen substantial growth thanks to state-provided subsidies and financial assistance. This approach creates sustainable revenue streams for residents while offering visitors an unparalleled authentic experience, immersing them in local culture, cuisine, and folklore. To ensure service excellence, a dedicated convention for homestay owners is also being planned.
