A major transformation has taken place at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, marking its debut under the Destination by Hyatt brand after the completion of the initial phase of a $340 million renovation project. Owned and managed by Dreamscape Companies, the Rio now stands as the largest property under Hyatt’s global hotel portfolio in terms of room count and is also the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada. This development significantly boosts Hyatt’s footprint in Las Vegas, a city renowned for its strong appeal to leisure travelers, conventions, and group events.

The comprehensive first phase of the renovation has brought about a significant redesign and modernization of the resort’s 1,500-room Ipanema Tower, along with the introduction of six new dining establishments within the Canteen Food Hall. Enhancements were also made to 220,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. Guests can enjoy an updated pool area, a reimagined casino floor featuring over 500 new slot machines and 30 table games, the new Lapa Lounge, and the relaxed atmosphere of Luckley Tavern & Grill. The resort exterior now features an eye-catching light show created by renowned lighting designers Chris Kuroda and Andrew Giffin, further elevating its visual appeal.

As the renovation project moves forward, the second phase will address the guestrooms and public spaces within the Masquerade Tower. The Rio Hotel & Casino’s participation in the World of Hyatt loyalty program allows members to earn and redeem points for eligible stays. Currently, members can take advantage of a promotion offering up to 25% off stays at the Rio and over 800 other participating hotels across the Americas. Situated at 3700 W. Flamingo Road, the Rio’s proximity to the Las Vegas Strip makes it an accessible and attractive option for both leisure and business travelers alike.

The extensive renovations and new affiliation with Hyatt underscore the Rio’s dedication to enhancing the guest experience and maintaining its allure for visitors.
